Founded
in 1938, Otoichi and Kume Kawana manufactured surimi based seafood
products from a small factory on 7th Street in Los Angeles, California
to the local Japanese American community. Two generations later,
Yamasa Enterprises manufactures and distributes throughout the
U.S., Europe and Asia.
Yamasa
Enterprises manufactures a wide variety of steamed, broiled and
fried surimi based products, including traditional Asian-style
products like Kamaboko (steamed fish product) and Tempura (fried
fish product) which have been produced in Japan and other parts
of Asia for over a thousand years. Yamasa also manufactures frozen
seafood appetizers.
